The Public Prosecution Office in Skopje and the European Development Academy in Slovenia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 15 May 2024. This agreement, endorsed by Gavril Bubevski, Chief Prosecutor of Skopje, and Andreja Dolničar Jeraj, Director of the European Development Academy, aims to provide a long-term framework and strengthen cooperation for capacity building across the judicial sector of North Macedonia, with a particular focus on enhancing financial investigations capacities. This initiative marks another significant step North Macedonia is making towards its progress in EU membership.
This Memorandum underscores the commitment of both institutions to work closely together to improve judicial standards, promote the rule of law, and enhance good governance through alignment with best practices. Built on a foundation of trust and mutual respect, this cooperation facilitates the exchange of knowledge and expertise with Slovenian experts, enabling Macedonian practitioners to enhance their capacity to conduct thorough financial investigations and foster a stronger legal framework, thus supporting their nation’s ongoing development.
